HELLO PHILLIPS FAMILIES.
Well here we are again getting ready for our next reunion. The dates are Oct. 1-2-3, 1999, at the Boy Scout Camp. The A-Frame buildings are air-conditioned. Sandy will be sending out reminders to everybody. We hope everyone has had a pleasant summer even though the weather remains hot. All is well at the Sanders house ,We hanging in and hanging on; What more could any one ask for. I got a pleasant surprise last week among all those handbills and advertisements was a card from Wiley and Earlene, they are hanging in like the rest of us. Really enjoyed the letter.
We have some new addition to the Phillips Tribe. I have a new set of Grandbabies " twins," Kameron Douglas and Kaycee Lynn Koerner were born on July 20,99, They were 4 weeks early and had to stay additional ten days in the hospital. As of now there are home and gaining weight. Joe and Genifer Koerner are the happy parents. Also Martha Lou has a new great -grand baby borne on July 26.99 , Richard Isiac Walker weight in at 9lbs.9oz and was 21 inches long. His happy parents are Richard and Jennifer Walker, His Grand parents are Billy and Sue Sthephic .
The reunion held in May turned out pretty well we had 65 family members to show up. There was plenty of food and every one just mostly camped out especially the out of towners. Some came by for a couple of hours , some came for one day and others didn’t make it at all. We All said a prayer for those that could not be there. We want you to know if you didn’t make it you were missed by all. Of course you missed the storm to, It hit about 9pm and blew things ever which way. Chairs and shoes were blown in the lake and food went ever where. I didn’t know the Phillips tribe could move so fast.
The enclosed pictures are of one of the Phillips children,. Some of you probably remember her. I never met her but I have heard her name as long as I can remember. Her name is Irene Tempe Phillips. She is the sister of Henry, Robert, Sis, and Frank. We think she was born in 1906 in Texas. She supposedly married Bruce Hollingsworth some time in the early 1900. They were the parents of 13 children. . Apparently there are seven of her children still living. The information is as accurate as I can give you until I can do a little more research. This info was given to me by Shirley Maeen, Who is Tempe’s great grand daughter. She lives in Yukon Ok. With her Mother and two children.. Those children are some ones that I would love to meet and talk to.. I am hoping when I retire from the 40 hr. work week I can spend some time on the Internet and find all kinds of information. Maybe we can get address and send them all this news letter.
Some news over the grape vine is that Martha has moved down by Bob and Sandie, and that Ophelia will join her sometimes in Oct. Gracie has moved back to her place in Shady Point. I haven’t heard from to many people with news so I guess they don’t want to make the front page. I do have some pictures for the next news letter. Do we have young one’s starting to school this year or do we have some that just graduated or do we have one that raised his grades a little? If so let me know send a picture with a story. All kids need a little attention and praise when they accomplish something good. Maybe some one is getting married or having a baby . How will I know if if you keep all your good stuff to your self.
What do you guys think of doing a recipe book for the Phillips Family. The way we all like to eat we must have hundreds of recipes that will be lost if we don’t share them, Think about it and let me know what you think. It would be a good project that we could all work on together. And who knows maybe we could sell it and earn some money. Well guys and Dolls this is all your getting from me this time so just kick back and think of something you want to share with the whole tribe Love you all So take care until the next time.
That’s all folks
The end
Bye for now
