Hello Phillips family

…well it looks like 99 is on its way out. Hope this letter finds everyone in the holiday spirit. I want every one to know that the reunion in October was a success. I can’t tell you how many were there, but we all had a good time visiting, eating and just having a good time. We want you all to know that we missed all the ones who were not able to make it. And we hope we will see you next year.

We lost four very important family members and this letter is dedicated to their memory. They were:

Betty Jewel                   Ruth Ann Phillips                         Grace                            Alesha

This letter will tell you about the oldest child of the couple above.(Wiley M. Phillips & Mary Ann Kelsey) He was Francis Marion Phillips. He was born on Feb 27th 1888 in Moffett, Indian Territory. Wiley and Mary were on their way to visit friends and relatives from Dunbar to Van Buren Arkansas, and he was born before they could reach their destination. In 1910 Uncle Frank worked at the sawmill on Bear Creek, Kosoma, Okla. His dad Wiley and his step brothers Bill, Ben, and Charlie Hoover ran the mill. He enlisted in the army on June 27th 1918 and was honorably discharged June 5, 1919. Dora Bell Phillips was the daughter of James Chitwood and Alice R. Smith. We all have precious memories of them. Aunt Dora died on Sept. 20, 1977 and Uncle Frank died June 2nd 1962; and he was given a full military funeral. They both rest in peace at Shady Point, Oklahoma close to where they spent almost all their lives. They had 9 children. They are as follows:

Thanks to the people that have sent me info: will use on other news letters. I intend to profile the cousins in rank of birth years so sense I don’t know who is the oldest yet you have to keep me informed.

I do have some correction to make. I thought all the time that Aunt Tempe was the oldest, but some one informed me that she was the youngest of the five living children.

Flora Mae wrote me and told me that Kim was going to college and that Bobbie and finished her schooling and was living in California. Those people that have written and sent me pictures: I want to tell you thanks, that I will get your pictures back to you just as soon as I can get them all on the computer. Well, this is all you are getting out of me this time so keep the information coming. A special thank you to Kathy Lee Kramer. She is a special one when it comes to info. News from the Daleplanks: Billy and Karla Daleplank will be moving back to Poteau in December from Durant, Okla. He will graduate in May. Dora wants to wish Happy Birthdays to Coady Francis, who will be ten on Dec 13th and to Jacob Bunner who will be two on the 20th. And she is really proud of Kalia Francis for making straight A’s this last semester. Bobby says he is working on his second million; he gave up on the first. May you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

That’s all folks

The end

Bye for now
